SE7 LOCAL OFFER FRAMEWORK AND GUIDANCE //P 21
People and services commissioned by the local authority to support children and young people with special educational needs (other than educational settings) should complete the following questions. If the service provides direct teaching to children and young people with special educational needs it should use the questions for educational settings.

• What does your service do?
• Tiptop Tutors offers tuition for children aged between 5 and 16 in English, Mathematics, science and geography. WE specialise in helping children with dyslexia, dyscalculia, ADHD, Autistic Spectrum conditions and have two specialist teachers with Level 7 SpLD qualifications in dyslexia who are available during the day, after school, school holidays and Saturdays.
• Lessons usually last for 1 hour, but longer or shorter lessons can be arranged if necessary.
• Where is it located and what areas does it cover?
• Tiptop Tutors is located in Storrington Road Thakeham RH20 3NA,just 400m from Rydon Middle School. There is parking infront of the centre. Lessons take place at the centre, or could be in local schools by negotiation.
• Who does your service provide for?
• We cover age ranges 5 – 16 in English, mathematics, science and geography. We have two specialist teachers who are qualified (Level 7 Dyslexia Specialists)
• We do not have specialists for sight or hearing impaired pupils.

• We are OFSTED registered and take childcare vouchers.
• Lessons cost £27 /hr in a small group (2 or 3) and £33/hr for 1:1 lessons
• Personal Budgets can be used to pay for the lessons.
• No waiting lists.
• How are decisions made about who can use your service?
• Penny Spokes makes the decisions for Tiptop Tutors. She can carry out a free initial assessment or use information from other reports.
• The results of the assessments will be discussed with parents and an Individual Education Programme will be written for each pupil.
6. How do you communicate with service users and how are they
involved in decision making/planning?
• Tiptop Tutors can offer parent training in English and Maths. We produce literature and information leaflets on related services, eg optometrist assessments and full diagnostic reports.
• We can re- assess your child every six months to see how they are doing.

• Is your service fully accessible?
• The building is on the ground floor and is wheelchair friendly. The toilet is accessible for wheelchairs.
• There is a small waiting area for parents or carers.
8. What training are the staff supporting children and young people with
SEND had or are having?
• All tutors are first aid trained and can use the fire extinguishers. Two tutors have specialist qualifications in dyslexia (level 7)
• All tutors are fully qualified teachers and are CRB checked.
